EVERY NEW DAY IS ANOTHER CHANCE|ANOTHER CHANCE TO #CHANGE|#CHANGE IS NEVER EVER EASY|YOU FIGHT TO HOLD ON|AND YOU FIGHT TO LET GO|PROGRESS IS IMPOSSIBLE|WITHOUT #CHANGE|WE NEED WE WANT WE HAVE TO #CHANGE|BETTER #CHANGE JUST START

#MINO : Video Diary #5 MINO Team Indonesia 14th Augustus 2016

In this video, we will tell you a very brief review of our research progress in the last two weeks.

First, after further discussion with our professor of fisheries and field experts, we are finally done with the design of the new model and scheme for the next research. In this research, we are using catfish as our subject. We separated the subjects into three tanks that have different heights. Our goal in this experiment is to collect more real information of the ideal depth for MINO and to compare it with the existing concepts and theories, because multiple testing with different subjects and variables are very necessary before we embark into the production stage.

Secondly, we have started the small manufacturing process of this research. As the variables of this research are little bit different with our previous research, we had to tinker our design, thus re-measurement and re-calculation had to be done so the product would fit with our research design. This process has been supported by Mechanical technology Laboratory, Gadjah Mada University.

Third, in cooperation with the department of fisheries gadjah Mada University and local catfish famers, we started the installation process of Mino. Started from the base, we assembled the pipe, connected all the joints and set the electronic series to make the water pump on.

Lastly, we did final check on the system and will maintain the quality control. As for the data collection and interpretation, just like the previous research, we will be supported by chemical engineering department and fisheries department of Gadjah Mada University.

For further development, we will prepare the tools and equipment that is necessary for the field application of Mino. As for the mass production plan, we will try to engage closely with local manufacturers in Yogyakarta. In the end, this project would be able to create a bigger ripple effect by benefiting many stakeholders; in this case, we hope we will not only help the fish farmers to have a better livelihood, but also the local business.

We also have started to discuss closely with our mentor. In the last 10th of Augustus, one of our team went to USAID office in Jakarta to brainstorm and discus directly with our mentor, Mrs. Celly Catharina, a Marine Program Specialist for USAID.

For the next two weeks, we will continue the catfish experiment, preparing for the next development of Mino and to improve the product so it could be more sustainable.

Behind the story:
Alhamdulilah semuanya lancar *enggak seru banget ya hehe

I was the one who went to USAID office in Jakarta in that Video hehe. But, i was afraid to add some pictures in this video wkwk. Privacy you know.

My first comment when i went to USAID was one: Maximum security, as American ways.
We must have appointment before go to the office *iyalah wkwk. But, i mean the real printed appointment. The security have list who will come and have an appointment in that day. I have checked in the front my belongings, purposes, etc before i went to parking area. When i thought its done, i was wrong. They were two more checkpoint inside. Alhamdulillah I was not asked and interrogated.

Finally i met with my mentor and discussed a lot hehe. Then i must go to the JCC to attend opening ceremony of Indonesia International Geothermal Conference and Exhibition 2016.
